There is NOT ONE client who has walked in my office door with a chronic mental health or physical condition where stagnant lymph wasn’t a contributing factor. I talk about lymph constantly which is why i'm choosing to write about this topic.
Why is it a big deal? Because when lymph is stagnant, the toxins and pathogens your body is trying to clear out cannot flow out as intended, and this leads to a build up of waste just sitting around in the body. This untreated stagnation creates inflammation 🔥 and will usually lead to dis-ease eventually. Your body needs to take out the waste for you to feel good!
If the lymph is congested and slowly flowing then your immune cells have a harder time getting into and out of the areas that are needing support. For example, if you have healthy flowing lymph you will clear an acute infection like a cold much faster.
Your lymphatic vessels run in tandem with the blood vessels and nerve bundles within the body. So, if lymph isn’t flowing well and there is toxicity and inflammation building up this will affect your blood and nervous system too and anything else connected to these (everything!).
Congestion in the liver affects the quality and function of our lymph. How? The liver is responsible for creating 30% of the substance that goes into creating the lymphatic fluid. When the liver is not functioning as well as it could, the substances created for the lymph will be affected and create a more stagnant fluid.
So, to have healthy lymph you need to move the lymph but you also need to care for your liver! And what’s affecting the liver? Toxins and stuck emotions like anger and rage.🔥
If people are struggling with holding onto excess weight they almost always have issues with their liver and lymph because extra weight is often a sign of excess inflammation and impaired detoxification. The liver is responsible for many functions, and one of them interestingly enough is to help the body clear excess fat from our cells. It can’t do this properly if it's congested!
Part 2 of this lymph post on its way and then there will be a Part 3 that will include ways you can support your lymphatic system!
